Tucked away right across the street from Shinagawa Station, Tsubame Grill is one of the oldest Western- turned Japanese restaurants in Japan! In fact, rumour has it that this restaurant was one of the first to bring Western cuisines to Japan and from which many other restaurants have mimicked since.
When you enter, you immediately notice that the decor has not significantly changed since 1930, but is still very cozy and comfortable. If it is your first time, you must try the famous Japanese hamburger (with baked potato). Once you open up the foil, it is tender, fragrant, and delicious. We also loved the clam chowder and garlic bread.
In summary, this is a restaurant you must try if you are looking for a historic restaurant right in the middle of Tokyo!
